Here is exactly how to use it.
Step 1: Enter your 4 JAMB subjects
Select your subject combination
Go to yasa.ng and tap the subject selector. YASA checks every institution's approved subject combinations against yours. Only institutions that accept your exact combination appear on the map. This eliminates 80% of wrong choices immediately.
Step 2: Set your UTME score
Use the score slider
Drag the score filter to your UTME score or type it directly. YASA filters out institutions whose historical cutoffs are above your score. You see only realistic options, not aspirational ones that will reject your application.
Step 3: Filter by what matters to you
Ownership, zone, fees
Federal? State? Private? Choose your geopolitical zone. Set a fee range. Each combination narrows the map to institutions that actually fit your life, not just your academic profile.
Step 4: Use "Near Me"
Distance-sorted results
Tap "Near Me" and allow location access. YASA sorts all filtered institutions by driving distance from your current position. For students whose family cannot afford accommodation far from home, this is often the most important filter of all.
Step 5: Ask the AI Counselor
Get specific answers
Tap the chat icon. Ask anything: "Which of these schools has the cheapest fees?" "Does UNILAG accept Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English?" "What is the cutoff for Engineering at ABU Zaria?" The AI counselor understands Nigerian education context and responds in English or Pidgin. What YASA Cannot Do (and Who to Call)
YASA shows you which institutions are eligible and what their requirements are. It cannot tell you whether your specific O'Level results meet a particular programme's requirements. For that, contact the institution's admissions office directly. All YASA data carries a confidence rating and comes with the disclaimer that JAMB and institutional policies change; always verify with the official JAMB CAPS before making final decisions.
